Business Development Specialist

ACD is looking for a motivated sales professional to grow our Industrial Controls and Sensors Product business. B2B sales, strategic analysis and technical knowledge are important aspects of the position. The ideal candidate has experience researching market trends, targeting relationships and have experience with the sales of industrial controls and sensors.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Research prospective accounts in targeted markets
  • Aggressively grow ACD’s industrial controls and sensors business, working with all seven account managers, by calling on Industrial Users, OEMs, System Integrators, and Panel builders.
  • Expand business at existing customers
  • Target new strategic accounts
  • Identify customer needs, match them to products or services, and pitch a solution.
  • Understand the target markets, including industry, company, project, company contacts and which market strategies can be used to attract clients
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to ensure that requirements are met
  • Build trusted, long-lasting relationships with customers
  • Possess a strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry and positioning
  • Arrange proper technical resources to close opportunities

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of technical sales experience, with a proven track record
  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree required– Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, etc.
  • Basic experience in selling industrial controls, sensors and machine safety products is preferred
  • Technical skills to understand and propose products or solutions by focusing on client requirements required
  • Outgoing personality and a strong work ethic
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Superior presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development.
  • Technical skills required to understand and propose products or solutions by focusing on client requirements
